(CLEVELAND) -- The Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees were postponed by rain for the second-straight day on Thursday evening at Progressive Field.
No makeup date has officially been announced but the belief is that a double-header will be scheduled at some point in May when both clubs have an off day.
Play never began on Thursday for the second consecutive night and due to the postponed games the Tribe changed their starting pitching order. Right-hander Justin Masterson will start on Friday night at Progressive Field against the Chicago White Sox. Zach McAllister will start on Saturday, followed by Brett Myers on Sunday.
After an off day on Monday, the Indians begin a three-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday at Progressive Field. Tribe skipper Terry Francona said right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez will start Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.
Meanwhile, the Yankees head back to New York for a three-game weekend series with the Baltimore Orioles.
Despite an announcement that the game would begin at 8:30 pm, the tarp was never removed and the game was postponed a short while after.
